How long could a untreated infected toenail take to get to the bone?

It depends.: If neglected an ingrown toenail will become infected and that can lead to osteomyelitis (infection of the bone) or even sepsis. Ingrown toenails occur when the nail grows into the skin of the toe. Virulence of the bacteria, diabetes, vascular disease, and other factors affect the speed of spread.
