A member asked:

Would gastroparesis show up on an endoscopy? or do you need to do a stomach emptying test

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Would not show up: Gastroparesis is a slow emptying of the stomach. It is a problem with the function of the stomach, not with how it looks. Since it still will probably look normal, the doctor who does the endoscopy is not going to be able to diagnose gastroparesis that way. You need an emptying study.
