Can gastroparesis come and go?had an emptying study done last year and at 4 hours my stomach was 96% empty,but some food feels like it stays for hours

Generally not.: Most gastroparesis is due to diabetes, a chronic condition & so gastroparesis tends to be permanent. You may have a different condition, chronic constipation (which is actually more like multiple attacks of acute constipation). In the latter case, medications are available to help move your bowels along & prevent the "food is sitting there" feeling. Talk to your doctor. Good luck & thanks 4 using

Gastroparesis: Gastric motility can vary and you may not have true gastroparesis but may have some delayed gastric emptying after ingesting certain foods. Fatty and greasy foods are notorious for causing delayed gastric emptying.
