First family doctor: See your doctor first, your pain-may not be related to your colonoscopy, you may have a hernia, or diverticulitis, or some thing else , after examination & tests will treat you or refer you to a specialist may be surgeon , depending on the findings.

General surgeon: Groin pain after colonoscopy with 8 month history does not correlate the two. Could be a unrelated inguinal hernia. Recommend general surgery consult.
