I want to see a specialist about a hemroid i think i have. before even seeing the doc, i have received a quotation for over 9k to do a colonoscopy, anal manometry and anorectal ultrasound. before i have even spoken to the doc?! is this standard?

I have no idea of what charges are 4 colonoscopy & if you mean 9K USD or rubles? It is good to know what u will b charged b4 hand. I would think a good look at the hemorrhoid and anus & digital exam would be first step by a family Dr . If no Hx of familial colorectal cancer I would check local guidelines for need for colonoscopy. Go to uptodate.com and read more.
