Pneumonia prophylaxi: There is a vaccine to immunize against many strains of pneumococcal bacterial infection. It has been a routine immunization for children for about the last 10 years. Therefore depending on your child's age she may have already received it. Check her records. Most pediatric infections, including pneumonia are viral, so be sure she gets her flu immunization.

Depends: On the type of pnemonia. If your child is already vaccinated with the standard list, many pneumonia causing bacteria are covered and the other vaccine you are probably referring to, "pneumococal" is not needed for asthmatic children. Also, unfortunately, because asthmatics trap air, they are more prone to pneumonia than the normal population.

Confusing to be sure: There are many germs that can cause pneumonia, and there is no vaccine that stops all of them. Asthma patients can get almost any vaccine available, not the nasal flu, but all the rest.If she had her kid shots on time she already had it.
