Can be: A major surgical procedure usually done as a re-operation for an abdominal ventral hernia. Often performed with general and plastic surgeons. Likely to be in the hospital for a few days. May have external drain tubes. May be 6-8 weeks for near full recovery after surgery. But each patient's type of surgery and recovery can be highly variable. Ask your surgeon about your individual situation.

Most of these operations will require a 3-5 day hospital stay. Postoperative drains are commonplace. Return to work varies with occupation. Most patients will fully recover within 2-3 months.
