A member asked:

Is there a good medicine for losing weight?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Weight loss meds: There are a handful of weight loss meds out there that are indicated for people above a certain bmi and with certain conditions. Two new meds Belviq (lorcaserin) and Qsymia were approved just in the past few months, but many doctors won't be comfortable prescribing them until they've been out for longer. For all meds, once they're stopped, the weight does come back without significant diet/exercise changes.
