$400-800: There is no standard for custom made orthotics in regards to pricing. Some areas of the country charge more than others. The average cost for a custom pair of orthotics that are molded to your feet is approx. $400-800. People will usually get custom orthotics for heel pain, for runners, and for people with generalized foot pain that are on their feet for a length of time daily.

Several hundred dol.: This will vary depending on where you go or what type of device is made. There are 2 types: a functional orthotic is to control biomechanical function and stabilize the foot in gait. This will lesson stress on feet that can cause conditions like plantar fasciitis, neuroma, metatarsal pain and even bunions or hammertoes. An accomodative orthotic simply accomodates or offloads a deformity or area.

Orthotics?: I believe you may be asking about custom made orthotics. Custom made orthotics are usually expensive and are usually used for patients with significant foot deformities. For most individuals with foot problems over the shelf orthotics work quite well and they are also significantly less expensive. Cost vary from less than 50 dollars to several 100 dollars.

Orthotics: It is difficult to say how much custom made orthotics will cost you because this will depend on if insurance will cover it and how much. You may be able to start with easily available inserts prior to purchasing / being fit for custom orthotics.
