Always some risk: If severe enough and for a prolonged period it is possible to tear or even in rare cases rupture plantar fascia. Additionally, the pain of plantar fasciitis may change your gait and cause problems in other areas of foot and body. There are other treatments for plantar fasciitis. Consult with a podiatrist.

None: None in particular, there are more options to treat plantar faciitis such as using a night resting splint that wll strech the plantar fascia gradually while you sleep, orthotics in the shoes, some times local infiltration, special exercises to strech with minimal discoforts, antiinflamatories may need to be used along with heel cups.If all that fail there are other resources that can be used.

If there is pain: The danger is it becomes more difficult to treat as a chronic condition than it can as an acute condition. Plantar fascial pain can be quite debilitating so i would advise trying to get rid of it as fast as it came.
