Tear in plantar fascia. thickened. i've tried cortisone inject., night splint, custom orthotics, pt, stretching. no help. doc recommending surgery?

Plantar fascia tear: Sounds like you've tried a number of non-surgical options to treat the tear in your plantar fascia and now your surgeon is recommend surgery but you're not convinced. If that's the case, go get a 2nd opinion, heck even a 3rd to serve as a tie-breaker if necessary. No need to rush into the operating room.

Weight loss: If you overweight, weight loss is also important thing to do. You pretty much tried all the treatments. If you worry shout surgery, you can see another podiatrist or orthopedic for second opinion before making decision on surgery.

PRP: Platelet rich plasma has been shown to be an excellent alternative to surgery for plantar fasciitis. I have been using it for 3 years with 85% cure rate.
