Which side? : I'm not clear about mum's diagnosis from your description. I am worried about right sided pain as a symptom of gall bladder disease (right upper quadrant) or appendicitis (right lower quadrant which requires immediate attn). If her fever isn't improving 48 hours after initiation of abx, she needs to be re-evaluated. Cough and phlegm, pain with cough & breathlessness would suggest chest infection.
