Possibly: Plantar fasciitis. In medicine, we use terminology to describe locations like proximal, distal, medial, lateral. This is a way for us to MAP out a location. I do not know what is meant by "far side". Try icing the bottom of the foot and wearing an arch support. Stay away from flats. If pain persists see the foot doc.

Many possiblities: Was there an injury or wound? Is it swollen. If pain is that bad, see a podistrist and have it checked out and x-rayed.
