None: Iodinated contrast which is given IV can damage the kidney mostly the injury is temporary.The test should be done only if there is no other way to diagnose the disease or to treat a condition.Hydration oral or intravenous helps in limiting the injury. Acetyl cysteine is used but the evidence is weak that it actually works, it does not prevent the contrast from being filtered through the kidney.

No: It has to be filtered through the kidneys to help visualize the kidney and urinary tract. There are medications that can be given to help the kidney tolerate it better if the kidney function is marginal.
