Nucynta (tapentadol) ER: This is quite an effective pain medication. However at the dose above it would appear that you are being switched from another medication. It is not common to start at this dose if you have never taken pain medications before.

Good effect: Nucynta (tapentadol) er is a good extended release opioid when treating chronic pain. If you are taking this drug or planning to take it for a long time, please be aware of a side effect that do not go away with time- constipation. Start now with a bowel program to minimize problems down the road. Senna with or without a stool softner (colace) is good.

It depends: The biggest factor is your pain intensity. It is a lowish dose but may be just fine for you. The maximum dose is 500 mg per 24 hours.
