What are the options if a spinal fusion doesn't take and worse symtoms appear?

Talk to your doc: Too complicated a question which requires a lot of info specific to your case. Sometimes additional surgery is indicated.

Several : Depends on why it did not take, what the symptoms are, and what viable options are available . First, do you have any underlying metabolic issues, are you a smoker and was this not your first surgery as they all have a negative impact on healing. Sometimes, there are other options to control symptoms other than another fusion surgery. Discuss with your surgeon or get a second opinion.
