I: Suggest you have the ganglion removed. Aspirations are not very successful.

Is ganglion painful?: If so kenalog( a type of cortisone) may help to relieve pain and inflammtion as well as possibly shrink or slow growth of ganglion. Aspirations are often only temporary. Sometimes they are surgically removed. They are usually caused by excessive friction or pressure. If this is eliminiated the risk of recurrence is lessened.

Trauma.: A ganglion cyst is usually the result of trauma, even many years ago. As far as I am concerned it is a surgical lesion. You either leave it alone or remove it (with a chance of recurrence). Don't hit it with a bible! that is an old wives tale and will make it worse.
