Immediately: This halts the growth of an enormous cyst. It's a stopgap in managing the overall disease. Cystic acne usually requires systemic treatment with isotretinoin. This is not for the faint-hearted but most people who have done a course are very glad. Best wishes -- i hope your treatment is relatively comfortable and completely successful.
