It depends: This seems like a high dose of amoxicillin, but this can be correct depending on what you are taking it for. The prophylactic dose recommended before dental work for someone with an artificial heart valve is 2000mg x 1 dose prior to procedure. This larger dose can also be used for h. Pylori infections in combination with Flagyl or clindamycin. Check with your pharmacist.
