Diverticulitus: Diverticulitis means an active infection of small pouches of the colon that needs treatment with antibiotics. With an active infection, foods should be small and very light, liquids & a few sift foods until the infection has resolved. Then later your doctor would start you on high fiber foods after infection has fully resolved.

Everything: Old teaching used to suggest low residue diet which means no peels or seeds to reduce/ prevent an new episode of diverticulitis. However there is no recent data that indicate a direct correlation between diet and recurrent diverticulitis. You can thus eat everything. I hope this will help.
