Not right away: generally I recommend that for 2 weeks following a diverticulitis episode, my patients remain on a low residue diet. Which is a diet low in fiber. Oatmeal tends to have a high fiber content and I would only start that after 2 weeks.

Soft foods: I suggest you avoid nuts, candies are hard foods and eat soft types of foods; apple sauce, chicken soup, peanut butter , etc.
