Regular ones: Starting anywhere, even with 3 x 10 minute walks / day is better than nothing. Ideally, getting to 30 minutes of moderate activity per day is the best solution. Walking will reduce risk of developing diabetes and is easier on the body. Some activities may prove to be too difficult or likely to injure an obese individual. It is critical to listen to your body and select something you will do.

Low impact: Low impact activities. Swimming is a great activity as is walking. Try to be active most days of the week.
