Depends on Cause: If the cause is food packed under the gum, then warm saline rinsing & gentle flossing may help. If it is from an abscessed tooth, then only a dentist can treat the cause of the pain. If it is from herpes, then your dr can prescribe medication. It all depends on what is causing the pain, so see your dentist or a physician to diagnose and recommend appropriate treatment.

Gum pain: It is best to see your dentist and find out what is causing this pain. To answer your question, yes there are quick solutions, but the dentist needs to diagnose what is the problem.
