Unlikely a cure: Perhaps, a temporary relief; however, transmitting stress to jaw muscles and joints is not ideal through excessive chewing is not a good idea. Relaxation therapy is a better place to start. Seek assistance down that road.

YES AND NO: If inclined to chew gum use sugarless or candy that is sugarless don't smoke listen to music or meditate.
