Many things: Is it the arch? Plantar fasciitis. It it on top of foot? May be bone spur. Does it only hurt when on feet or does it hurt all of time or only at rest? What kind of pain?: shooting, throbbing, burning etc. Need more information.

See a Podiatrist: If pain is in arch of your foot, could be plantar fasciitis. If it hurts to wlak or stand for prolonged periods of time, try an otc insert.

The top?: The bottom? General questions get general answers...So pretty much anything can cause it: tendonitis, plantar fascitis, neuritis, bone spur.....Try and specify top or bottom what the pain feels like, if anything helps it or makes it worse...Etc.
