Pelvic exam: Pelvic exam can be (either or both): 1) a speculum exam, which is to see the inside of the vagina and the cervix, looking for abnormlaities, and 2) a bimanual exam with one hand in the vagina and the other applying pressure from above. This checks not only size and position of the pelvic organs, but checks rough/smooth, fixed/mobile, painful or not.
