Fibroid: This is another word for uterine fibroid - a benign muscular tumor of the uterus. A fibroid is a very common tumor and is not dangerous. A fibroid can cause symptoms of pain, pressure, bleeding and other symptoms. Commonly a fibroid will have no symptoms at all. A fibroid does not need to be treated unless it is causing symptoms.
