Embolization...: Non-surgical treatment of uterine leiomyomas is an evolving field of medicine only available at certain centers. Two of the techniques used are Uterine Artery Embolization and MRI guided focused ultrasound. No diet or herbal treatment has ever been shown to cure leiomyomas. Best wishes!

Fibroid Embolization: Uterine fibroid embolization is performed by an interventional radiologist, physician trained to perform minimally invasive procedures. After a small groin skin nick, using real-time imaging, a catheter is guided through the artery & then releases tiny particles into uterine arteries that supply blood to the fibroid tumor. This blocks the blood flow to the fibroid tumor & causes it to shrink & die

Provided original answer
Interventional radiologists use MRIs to determine if fibroids can be embolized, detect alternate causes for the symptoms and rule out misdiagnosis, identify which treatments are best suited for each patient and avoid ineffective treatments. An MRI is a best imaging modality for uterine fibroids because it can show underlying diseases and image all of the fibroids.
