Decay: A three year old probably has all the the deciduous or primary teeth already. The adult teeth don't start coming in until about six years old. If there is decay in any of the teeth, that could be the cause of some pain. There is also the possibility of a sore somewhere on the gums, cheek or lips that could also hurt.
