What causes you to bite your lip when chewing gum and/or eating?

Malocclusion: Quite possibly some misalignment of the teeth and/or jaws can result in the accidental biting of the lip and cheek.

Any Recent Oral Tx?: If the teeth have shifted position or you have had recent dental treatment that may have altered your bite or the width of any teeth, you may catch your lip during eating or gum chewing. See your dentist to see if there is a cause they can identify and possibly treate.
