Dry mouth/dry saliva: Water is vital to the body. The symptoms of 'white material' accumulating after hours of speaking and not taking in enough water suggest dehydration and desiccation (drying out) of mouth secretions (saliva). Soda has no nutritional value at all - please avoid the empty calories and chemicals. Water is what nature intended -- after all we are two-thirds H2O. I don't advocate gum chewing either.
