Shouldn't be: People who have properly treated diabetes should be able to gain muscle mass as easily as anyone else. Gaining significant muscle mass is not easy generally, and the exercise required may necessitate a change in the diabetes regimen if sugars are fluctuating. Vegetables and lean proteins should be the cornerstone of the diet- your md or dietician can help.
