...: Penicillin g is the medication of choice for treatment of syphilis in any stage for people without a penicillin allergy. The schedule of penicillin g is determined based on the stage of syphilis. One may receive one injection and stop, or one injection a week for three weeks, or intravenous (IV) treatment for 10-14 days. All sexual partners need to be evaluated. Hiv testing should also be done.
