Location: Tinea cruis occurs in the groin. Tinea pedis occurs on the feet.

Only location: Tinea refers to the fungal infection of skin. Tinea pedis (pedis=foot) is athlete's foot, and tinea cruris (cruris=crotch) is jock itch. They differ only in location, and are treated the same way.
