Battling Depression: This can be a lifetime process. First, there's good treatment with psychotherapy and medications -- best if both are combined rather than pills alone. You can also ensure you're eating healthy foods; getting enough good quality sleep/rest; exercising regularly; loving others; and also contributing your skills in the world. Avoid alcohol & illicit drugs. Having a spiritual practice helps too.
