A member asked:

My daughter still has a soft spot and she is 14. is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Should be gone by 9: The anterior superior soft spot as well as the occasional posterior spot are generally not detectable by touch after 18mo. The physiologic closure of these areas in usually complete by 9. Soft spots to the touch in the scalp may be cysts if over fleshy areas. If over bony skull they are abnormal at this age.
