Have it examined: The usual soft spot on a newborn can vary in size from a fingertip to quite large, but all should be near undetected by 2 if not sooner. I would have it examined by the kids doc to see if additional studies are needed. You have not indicated its location or size, which does matter, but without examining the spot, little more can be suggested.
