Diabetes: I presume he has type 2 diabetes. This usually necessitates medications. Seek out a board-certified endocrinologist to help with management.

Go see doc: If his blood sugars are fluctuating, he needs to see his doctor to get treated or to get the diabetes regimen re-adjusted so that this is not happening anymore.
