Keep it simple: Weight loss and regular exercise are most important in reducing the risks associated with having diabetes. There are medicine and supplements which help but going for a walk regularly with your father and even losing 5-10 lbs might make the difference. Occasionally there are occult infections (teeth) etc...that are keeping the sugars high. That's for his doctor to look into.

Needs more: Hi Mohit. Your Dad's diabetes meds aren't doing the job. What's his A1c? Not knowing what medicines he's taking, all I can say is he needs more. One or more of his pills may not be contributing much, if anything, and could be stopped. There is always insulin, but he may be able to get control with some newer non-insulin drugs like GLP-1 receptor agonists and or SGLT-2 inhibitors. Ask his doc.
