Maybe...: Sometimes a tooth that has broken off like this can be fixed by doing a root canal, placing a post in the tooth, and then crowning it. This does, however, require some solid tooth structure to work with. Many times when a tooth is broken off at the gum line however, there is insufficient tooth structure remaining and extraction is the only option. The tooth can then be replaced with an implant.

Possibly: You'll need to make an appointment with a local dentist to have that broken tooth evaluated.
