Mood disorder (major depression and bipolar disorder) can occur spontaneously but a lot of studies suggest they can be genetically related as well. Your kids are vulnerable to develop a mood disorder if you have one. Fortunately there are protective factors which can foster resilience in your children - including exercise, healthy diet, and a supportive psychological environment.
