ask her: You can ask her this question; and request her permission to contact her friends or other relatives in her area who could actually check; if it was impossible for you to do this. Sometimes kids (even grown ups) need their parents with them. A visit to a general dr might help her too for many reasons; and she might be more willing to. Good luck.

Try to stay in touch: As often as possible. Encourage her to get out of her house, exercise, meet a friend for coffee, find work or volunteer. If she becomes more depressed or suicidal you will sense it and can make sure she gets help asap.
