Nature/Nurture: As we continue to study and understand human genetics, we are learning that genetics plays a role in mental illness. A person who has a first degree relative with mental illness is at greater risk of having mental illness. Unlike certain physical illness where a single gene is involved, the genetics of mental illness is much more complicated. Genetics then could increase a child's risk.

Hard To Answer: For several reasons. You are adding two diagnosis. Bipolar and anxiety. Also you are not saying if anyone else in the family has the diagnosis and if the father has the diagnosis. Your children growing up in an environment of anxiety and mood swings is also a factor. Still, it would not be more than a 25% chance that they would get anxiety, and a lower chance that they would get bipolar disorder.
