Zoloft (sertraline) equivalent: Equivalent to what other med? Prozac-zoloft-paxil-celexa... Are in a class called ssri. They are totally different meds but can be used to treat relatively same problems. There is only a relative equivalence. You can tolerate one and not tolerate another from the same class.Learn to ask detailed questions.

THAT VARIES FROM: Ssri to ssri/snri/antidepressant. No easy answer for this one in terms of throwing numbers at you. 30-40 citalopram? 40 paxil/prozac? 75-150 effexor (venlafaxine)? So on and so forth. This is where the "art" part of our profession takes over, and the care and experience from a trusted, caring doctor, helping you through the process.

Zoloft (sertraline): You didn't provide another medication that your doctor is considering a change to, so i can't answer specifically. Nonetheless, there's still room to increase your zoloft (sertraline) dose to see if that could increase effectiveness. In situations like this, many primary care physicians ask their patients to see psychiatrists for review of medications & suggestions for dose adjustments or changes, etc.
