Abnormal spotting: Your blood levels for day 2 and day 21 Progesterone are adequate yet you are spotting brown and cramping with shedding of endometrium. This is called Progesterone break through bleeding. You need a premenstrual endometrial biopsy and dating of endometrium to rule out luteal phase deficiency. Also an ultrasound to rule out endometrial polyp.
