Long recovery: The tongue is usually pretty quick to heal from injuries like burns and bites - on the order of days. This sounds like a long recovery. In the absence of other symptoms, it is probably running its course... But if it persists much longer or if you have any associated symptoms, or the loss is strictly one-sided and not resolving, it would be worth an exam. Hope this helps!
