Diagnosis is the key: Sharp tongue pain is usually caused by something obvious and visible like trauma. In some instances, though, a discolored or painful tongue can indicate more serious conditions, including vitamin deficiencies or blood disorder. See your dentist for a proper diagnosis and treatment.
