A member asked:

Tokosubo syndrome why is it unusual for men and what is the likelyhood it will happen again because he is not getting better and what else could be causing pain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Are you sure?: How sure are you that he has takotsubo's cardiomyopathy? It usually does not give chest pain. Cardiomyopathies in general do not give chest pain as a primary symptom, usually sob is the main issue. Why takotsubo's does not occur in men as much is not known to the best of my understanding. Other things causing pain are gi-related or musculoskeletal pain.
