Takotsubo syndrome' can this present in milder forms? for e.g shortness of breath, bradycardia & frequent ectopic beats since sudden shock grief of a loved one. but normal troponin levels & ecg?

EKG criteria for the diagnosis of takotsubo's syndrome are described. One would also have to demonstrate transient echocardiograohic signs of diminished myocardial contraction. In my opinion,the changes you describe don't qualify. Frequent ectopic beats and shortness of breath,especially at rest instead of with exertion, can be caused by stress and anxiety. What does your cardiologist think?

Taketsubo Syndrome, or stress cardiomyopathy, involves a sudden and temporary weakening of the heart muscle. It sounds serious to me, and if you have it, hopefully a board-certified cardiologist should be better answer questions about it than I.

Usually in Takotsubo syndrome there is abnormal imaging/ blood work. A subclinical syndrome has not been defined You may be experiencing symptoms due to stress/ grief . Would consider check for reflux, pulmonary function, thyroid function and if warranted 24 hour Holter and echocardiogram so that other etiologies can be ruled out.
