Other than temperature, what is the difference between cool and warm mist humidifiers?

Safety: The use of steamers (hot element humidifiers) has not been recommended for years due to safety concerns. The parent stumbling around in a poorly lit room trying to retrieve & fill one often spilled boiling water on themselves or at worse, the heater could malfunction & burn the house down.Today's misters use differn't technology to produce a cool mist & humidifiers make no mist at all.
